About Dr. Fuoco

Since 2004, Christina Fuoco, VMD has incorporated acupuncture into her practice of veterinary medicine.  Acupuncture has become a useful asset in managing pain for arthritic patients, post-surgical patients, as well as to help manage medical conditions such as chronic kidney disease and other disease processes.

In 2004, she received her certification at Tufts University through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society which, as their mission statement says, "is a worldwide advocate in the promotion of education, responsible research, and the integration of acupuncture into veterinary medicine to create and maintain optimal health in all animals."  This group has been promoting acupuncture and teaching veterinarians Traditional Chinese Medicine since the 1970s.  Because they are an international group, their worldwide membership brings diversity and a depth of knowledge many veterinary groups are not able to offer.

After graduating cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Fuoco went on to receive her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  Since graduating from Penn in 2001, Dr. Fuoco has been working in private practice.  In 2007, she started treating patients at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she continues to treat patients.  She also is on staff at Queen Village Animal Hospital in Philadelphia.
